There are many factors that can cause hot tub staining. Before you get too excited, let's get down to the bottom of it.
This could be the reason you are seeing stains in your hot-tub if you don't clean it and test its water level with a filter strip.
If your hot tub is still stained after cleaning it regularly, there are likely one of these culprits:
Hot tub scales or calcium buildup
It's possible for hard water to build up in your hot tub's plumbing and cause scales.
Rust:
Your water may have high levels of iron and copper if you are noticing signs or traces of rust. These metals eventually oxidize and eventually form rust.
Here is a quick color chart breakdown.
High copper contents - blue, black, or green stains
High-range ifers = red, brown, or green stains
It is essential that you test the water to determine which type of cleaner you will need. Make sure you are using iron and copper-level filter strips. Click here to find one.
You'll need to scrub in some old-fashioned scrubbing when it comes time to clean out the hot tub stains.
First, shock your hot tub with a shock oxygenize.
To ensure that your hot tub isn't receiving electricity, completely shut it off.
Next, drain the hot tub and find the problem by examining your filter strips.

Rinse the shell thoroughly (any cleaner residue could also cause foaming).
Take a look at the areas that are stained and scrub them with a Jumbo handi brush or an Oil Scum Absorber Zoorbo.
You should dry the hot tub areas that aren't filled with water.
Fill the hot tub with water.
Use the right filter strips to balance the water.
You're done! Relax in the LOVIA Spas hot tub!
